This is bigger than a typical bedroom or living room, and large enough that structural movement, drainage and material logistics become part of the planning β not an afterthought.
An indoor 15Γ15 great room and an outdoor 15Γ15 patio are the same footprint, but they behave differently. Indoors, the main risks are subfloor deflection and long, uninterrupted grout runs. Outdoors, temperature swings are more extreme, the substrate is usually a concrete slab rather than plywood, and water has to go somewhere β which indoor floors never need to plan for.

Indoors, that means a subfloor flat within about 1/8 inch over 10 feet, often achieved with a self-leveling compound. Outdoors, it means a concrete slab checked for the same flatness before anything is set, since a large tile will visibly rock or "lipp" over even a small dip.
An outdoor 15Γ15 patio needs a consistent slope β roughly 1/4 inch per foot β directing water away from the house foundation. Skipping this is one of the more common patio mistakes: water that pools instead of draining will find its way under the tile base and cause freeze-thaw cracking after just one cold season.
A project this size is large enough that ordering becomes its own small task. Tile cartons typically hold 10 to 15 sq ft, so 225 sq ft plus a waste allowance usually means buying tile by the pallet rather than by the box, and confirming every carton shares the same dye lot before installation starts.
