ℹ️ "Can miss" = classes you can skip and still stay at or above your target. "Need to attend" = consecutive classes required to recover if already below target.
Most Indian colleges enforce a minimum attendance requirement of 75% per subject. Falling below this threshold can result in being barred from exams, losing internal marks, or having to repeat the semester. This free attendance shortage calculator helps you track every subject individually and know — with exact numbers — how much buffer you have left.
The formula is straightforward. Your current attendance percentage is classes attended ÷ classes held × 100. To find how many more classes you can afford to miss while staying at or above your target (say 75%), the calculator solves: can miss = floor((present − target × total_future) / (1 − target)). If you are already below target, it calculates how many consecutive classes you must attend to recover.
The bookmarklet button above is a small piece of JavaScript saved as a browser bookmark. When you are logged into your college ERP and on the attendance page, clicking it reads only the attendance table — nothing else — and sends that data to this page via the URL. Your ERP password never leaves your browser, and civvy.tech never stores any data.
To set it up: drag the "Drag me to your bookmarks bar" button to your browser's bookmarks bar. That's the one-time setup. After that, log into your ERP, navigate to the attendance page, and click the bookmark. Your dashboard loads in seconds.
Overall attendance percentage is misleading. You might be at 80% overall but critically low in one specific subject — like a lab with fewer total classes — and not realise it until it's too late. This tool shows the status for every subject independently, flags the ones at risk, and tells you exactly how many more classes of each subject you need to attend to recover.
Does this tool store my data? No. Your attendance data lives only in the page URL for that session. When you close the tab, it's gone. There are no accounts, no servers, and no tracking of your attendance.
Does it work for all colleges? The bookmarklet works on any ERP that displays attendance in an HTML table — which covers the vast majority of Indian college ERPs including Amizone, ERP21, Fedena, and similar systems. Manual entry works for everyone regardless of ERP.
What if my college has an 80% or 85% requirement? Use the target selector at the top of the tool to set 75%, 80%, or 85% before calculating.
How accurate is the "can miss" number? It assumes all remaining classes in the semester will be held as scheduled. If the total classes column in your ERP shows only classes held so far (not the full semester total), the number will be conservative — which is safer.
